Vultr Enhances Enterprise Agentic AI Infrastructure with New Platform Upgrades

Vultr Expands Enterprise AI Infrastructure with New Platform Enhancements

Vultr, the world’s largest privately held cloud infrastructure company, has announced a new set of platform enhancements designed to support the growing adoption of agentic artificial intelligence (AI) across enterprises. The latest upgrades aim to give businesses greater control over AI workloads while improving cost efficiency, security, flexibility, and access to open-source technologies.

The announcement reflects Vultr’s ongoing efforts to develop cloud infrastructure that meets the changing requirements of modern enterprises. As organizations move beyond AI experiments and begin deploying autonomous AI agents in production environments, they require infrastructure that can support complex workloads while maintaining strong security and operational control.

Kevin Cochrane, chief marketing officer at Vultr, explained that businesses are increasingly looking for ways to move AI projects from proof-of-concept stages to full-scale deployment. However, traditional infrastructure platforms can be expensive and complex, potentially limiting innovation. At the same time, newer cloud providers may offer flexibility without all the governance and security features required by large organizations.

According to Cochrane, Vultr aims to bridge this gap by providing a unified infrastructure platform that combines performance, security, cost efficiency, and ease of use. The company believes this approach can help enterprises accelerate their adoption of agentic AI while maintaining control over their technology environments.

Supporting Enterprise Adoption of Agentic AI

Agentic AI refers to artificial intelligence systems capable of carrying out tasks, making decisions within defined parameters, and coordinating multiple steps toward a particular objective. Multi-agent systems involve several AI agents working together to complete more complex workflows.

For enterprises, implementing these technologies requires coordination among development teams, IT departments, security specialists, and business stakeholders. Organizations must ensure that AI applications meet operational requirements, comply with internal policies, and protect sensitive information before they can be deployed at scale.

Vultr’s enterprise AI infrastructure is designed to support this process through a flexible platform and access to a broad ecosystem of software and technology partners. Its infrastructure capabilities are intended to help businesses develop, test, deploy, and manage AI applications without building every component independently.

The company also emphasizes transparency, usability, and optimized AI architectures. These capabilities are intended to help information technology leaders and chief information security officers manage AI deployments while maintaining appropriate security controls.

Vultr’s global data center presence provides additional options for organizations that need control over where their information is stored and processed. Data residency and sovereignty considerations are particularly important for businesses operating across different regions and regulatory environments.

Key Platform Enhancements

Vultr has introduced several updates across its infrastructure and enterprise services. The enhancements cover identity management, cluster provisioning, storage, networking, customer support, and access to open-source applications.

1. Enterprise Identity and Access Management

Vultr has expanded its Enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) capabilities to simplify authentication for users and applications while maintaining enterprise security requirements.

The updated system introduces streamlined application access through Vultr’s OAuth provider. It also adds support for System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM), helping enterprises simplify user provisioning and access management through their existing identity providers.

These capabilities can reduce the administrative effort associated with managing employee access to cloud resources. Organizations can integrate identity workflows into their existing systems instead of relying entirely on manual account management.

Vultr Audit Logs are also now available to track user and agent activities. These records provide additional visibility into platform usage, helping administrators review activity and improve oversight of their cloud environments.

2. Improved Vultr Clusters

Vultr has redesigned the interface used to provision clusters, making it easier for customers to deploy and manage clustered infrastructure on demand.

The updated experience is intended to reduce the complexity associated with manual configuration. Faster provisioning can help organizations adjust their infrastructure as workload requirements change, particularly when supporting demanding AI applications.

By making cluster deployment more accessible, Vultr aims to help enterprises use computing resources more efficiently. Organizations can better align infrastructure capacity with operational needs and reduce the risk of maintaining unnecessary resources while waiting for configurations to be completed.

3. Vultr VX1 Bootable Storage

Vultr VX1, which features the latest-generation CPU processors and rapid provisioning capabilities, is designed to support workloads requiring a combination of CPU and GPU resources.

This infrastructure configuration is relevant to agentic AI applications, which may require CPUs for general processing, coordination, and application services alongside GPUs for computationally intensive AI tasks.

Vultr VX1 instances will support booting from either local storage or Vultr Block Storage boot volumes. The company also plans to introduce rapid cloning capabilities for existing block storage volumes.

These improvements are intended to simplify instance replication and accelerate infrastructure deployment. Customers will be able to create additional environments more efficiently, helping them scale computing resources as AI projects expand.

4. Bootable Storage for Vultr Cloud GPU

Vultr is also preparing to introduce boot-volume options for its Cloud GPU instances. Customers will be able to choose between local storage and Vultr Block Storage boot volumes.

The enhancement is designed to accelerate cluster deployment by allowing customers to launch instances from validated images. This can help standardize infrastructure configurations and reduce the effort required to prepare environments for AI workloads.

Local storage will remain available for temporary or high-speed working data, often referred to as scratch space. This arrangement provides flexibility for customers managing different storage requirements across their GPU-based computing environments.

5. Vultr Cloud VPNs

The new Vultr Cloud VPN service will provide an option for enterprises to establish secure connections between AI workloads hosted on Vultr and other data centers or client devices over the public internet.

Virtual private networks can help protect communications between connected environments by creating encrypted network connections. For enterprises running distributed applications, secure connectivity is an important part of integrating cloud resources with existing systems.

Vultr positions its Cloud VPN offering as a cost-effective way to connect workloads and devices without requiring organizations to build every networking component independently.

6. Vultr App for Slack

Vultr is introducing an application for Slack to make customer support more accessible within enterprise collaboration workflows.

Through the integration, customers will be able to create, respond to, and update Vultr support tickets directly from their Slack workspaces. This reduces the need to leave the primary collaboration environment to manage support requests.

The integration is intended to simplify communication between customers and support teams, allowing businesses to handle infrastructure-related issues through a familiar workplace tool.

7. Expanded Vultr Marketplace

Vultr is continuing to enhance its Marketplace by expanding access to open-source technologies and improving deployment options.

The Marketplace provides a catalog of software and tools that customers can use to develop and operate applications. Broader access to open-source solutions can give enterprises additional flexibility when selecting technologies for AI projects.

Organizations can choose tools that fit their requirements rather than depending exclusively on proprietary software. This can support greater customization and help businesses evaluate different approaches to building and managing AI workloads.

The Marketplace is also part of Vultr’s broader strategy to create an ecosystem in which enterprises can access infrastructure and software through a more integrated environment.

A Flexible Approach to Enterprise Infrastructure

Cochrane emphasized that enterprise AI infrastructure should provide organizations with freedom, flexibility, and choice while delivering the reliability and capacity needed for large-scale operations.

It aims to serve a wide range of customers, including chief information officers, chief technology officers, security leaders, platform engineering teams, and individual developers. Its platform is designed to provide infrastructure that can be customized without requiring every organization to build its technology stack from scratch or become dependent on a single hyperscale cloud provider.

The company has more than a decade of experience delivering cloud infrastructure to businesses. Its offerings include NVIDIA and AMD GPUs, scalable cloud computing powered by modern data center processors, high-speed networking, storage solutions, managed Kubernetes, and managed databases.

Through the Vultr Cloud Alliance, customers can also access a network of technology partners, including providers focused on secure enterprise data management. The Marketplace complements this ecosystem by offering an expanding selection of open-source technologies for application development and AI deployment.
