Fujifilm Unveils instax mini Evo 2™ Hybrid Instant Camera with Enhanced Creative Features

FUJIFILM North America Corporation’s Imaging Division has announced the launch of the instax mini Evo 2™ Hybrid Instant Camera, alongside an enhanced version of the instax mini Evo™ smartphone app. The latest addition to Fujifilm’s popular instax™ lineup introduces new photography and video features designed to provide users with greater creative control, improved composition tools and more engaging ways to capture everyday moments.

Building on the success of the original instax mini Evo, the new Evo 2 combines the charm of instant photography with modern digital capabilities. With an upgraded touchscreen, expanded framing options and a new feature for capturing moments before a photograph is taken, the camera aims to make photography more intuitive, expressive and immersive for creators of all experience levels.

Bing Liem, division president of the Imaging Division at FUJIFILM North America Corporation, highlighted the popularity of the instax Evo product family and the company’s commitment to improving the user experience. According to Liem, the Evo 2 builds on the strengths of the original model while introducing enhancements that offer users more possibilities for both still photography and video content creation.

Enhanced Display and Creative Photography Features

One of the most notable upgrades to the instax mini Evo 2 is its new 4.5-inch LCD touchscreen, which allows users to compose photographs, adjust camera settings and preview their content directly on the device. The touchscreen is designed to simplify the shooting process, making it easier to explore different creative options before printing an image.

The camera also introduces instax Expanded View™, a feature that provides a wider field of view than the actual shooting area. An on-screen framing guide helps users see more of the surrounding scene while composing their photographs, allowing them to plan shots more carefully and achieve their preferred composition.

Another major addition is instax Immersive Movie™, a feature that records the four seconds leading up to each photograph. By preserving the movement and atmosphere before the shutter is pressed, the feature helps users capture more of the experience surrounding a particular moment. A microSD card, sold separately, is required to use this capability.

These additions expand the camera’s creative potential, allowing users to document experiences in ways that go beyond traditional instant photography.

Multiple Effects for Greater Creative Control

The instax mini Evo 2 offers a range of image customization options, giving photographers greater flexibility when creating their pictures. The camera features 10 lens effects and 10 film effects, providing up to 100 possible combinations for different visual styles and moods.

Users can experiment with these effects to create distinctive images, whether they prefer vibrant colors, subtle tones or a more artistic appearance. The camera also includes analog-inspired controls that provide a tactile shooting experience while allowing users to adjust settings according to their preferences.

Additional manual adjustments include exposure, white balance and flash settings, helping users adapt to different lighting conditions and photographic environments. A dedicated macro mode is also available for close-up photography, making it easier to capture small subjects and fine details.

For image quality and color reproduction, the camera offers a resolution of 600 dpi. Users can select between instax-Rich Mode™, which emphasizes vivid colors, and instax-Natural Mode™, which delivers a more classic photographic aesthetic. This flexibility allows photographers to choose a look that suits the subject or their personal style.

A built-in selfie mirror further simplifies self-portraits and group photography, helping users frame themselves more accurately before taking a picture.

Smartphone Connectivity and Instant Printing

Alongside its camera upgrades, Fujifilm has enhanced the instax mini Evo™ smartphone app to support a more connected photography experience. The free, downloadable app enables users to print images stored on their smartphones directly through the instax mini Evo 2. A compatible smartphone is required and is not included with the camera.

The camera also supports remote shooting through a smartphone connected to the app. This feature allows users to control the camera remotely, providing additional convenience when taking group photographs, selfies or images that require a carefully positioned camera.

For physical prints, the instax mini Evo 2 produces 2 x 3-inch instax™ mini instant photographs. The instant film is sold separately, allowing users to purchase supplies according to their printing needs.

A microSD card slot provides additional storage flexibility, while USB Type-C charging offers a convenient way to recharge the device. The camera package includes a shoulder strap, a USB Type-C cable, a quick start guide and a one-year limited warranty.
