Samsung Unveils Galaxy Tab S12 Series With Powerful Performance and AI-Driven Productivity
Samsung Electronics has unveiled the Galaxy Tab S12 series, introducing the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ as its most capable tablet lineup to date. Combining powerful hardware, long-lasting battery life, immersive displays and the latest Galaxy AI features, the new tablets are designed to help users work, learn, create and explore wherever their goals take them.
Built around Samsung’s signature thin and lightweight design, the Galaxy Tab S12 series brings professional-grade performance to a portable form factor. Both models include an ergonomic S Pen, expansive displays and access to a growing ecosystem of productivity and creative applications.

Powerful Performance in an Ultra-Thin Design
The Galaxy Tab S12 series combines high-performance computing with a slim, portable design intended to support productivity throughout the day.
At just 5.1mm thick, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is Samsung’s thinnest Galaxy Tab yet. Despite its slim profile, the device delivers the most powerful performance of any Galaxy Tab to date, allowing users to handle demanding applications and multitasking without sacrificing portability.
For users balancing multiple responsibilities, this flexibility can be particularly useful. A student taking an online course while working full time, for example, can review lessons while commuting and then use the tablet’s large display to complete assignments, research topics or take notes later in the day.
Battery life is also designed to support extended sessions. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra provides up to 23 hours of battery life on a single charge, while the Galaxy Tab S12+ offers up to 21 hours. When it is time to recharge, both devices can reach 100% in approximately 95 minutes using a 45W adapter, helping minimize interruptions.
Under the hood, the new 3nm processor delivers up to 61% faster NPU processing, 19% faster CPU performance and 17% improved GPU performance compared with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. These improvements are designed to support demanding workloads ranging from creative projects and multimedia to AI-assisted tasks and multitasking.
A redesigned 3D Vapor Chamber helps manage heat during intensive workloads, supporting sustained performance during activities such as video editing and graphic design. The Galaxy Tab S12 series also features IP68-rated water and dust resistance for added durability.
Expansive Displays and Immersive Audio
The Galaxy Tab S12 series provides large displays designed to give users more room for multitasking, research and creative work.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra features a 14.6-inch display, providing ample space for viewing complex information and working across multiple applications. The Galaxy Tab S12+ features a 12.6-inch display with slimmer bezels than its predecessor, increasing usable screen space while maintaining portability.
Both tablets feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits. An upgraded Vision Booster system automatically adjusts brightness in response to surrounding lighting conditions, helping provide a comfortable viewing experience across different environments.
Audio has also been upgraded. Four-channel spatial audio provides twice as many channels as the previous generation, creating a richer and more immersive sound experience when users stream entertainment, follow tutorials, attend online classes or work with multimedia content.
Galaxy AI Turns the Tablet Into a Flexible Workspace
The Galaxy Tab S12 series runs Android 17 with One UI 9 and the latest Galaxy AI features, bringing research, note-taking, creation and AI assistance together on a single device.
The large displays support Multi Window layouts with up to three sections, allowing users to work across several applications simultaneously. For example, a user can play an online lecture, take notes in Samsung Notes and interact with an AI assistant at the same time.
The bundled S Pen provides precise input for writing, annotating documents and sketching ideas. Samsung Notes and Note Assist can further help users organize information and summarize notes, allowing key ideas to be captured without interrupting the learning process.
The tablets also include a six-month trial of Google AI Pro, providing expanded access to Google’s AI capabilities. Users can turn to Gemini for explanations or additional information, while Gemini Notebook can bring notes, images, recordings and files together in one workspace and generate summaries, podcasts and quizzes.
Samsung Browser also incorporates AI-assisted capabilities that can help users navigate complex research. By considering webpage content, open tabs and browsing history, the browser can summarize information across multiple pages or help surface relevant sources previously viewed.
Accessories and Professional-Grade Applications
Samsung is positioning the Galaxy Tab S12 series as more than a traditional tablet by pairing it with accessories and software designed for productivity and creative work.
The optional Pro Keyboard features a premium aluminum finish and Galaxy AI Key for quick access to AI assistants, while the Book Cover Keyboard Slim provides comfortable typing and flexible viewing angles.
The software ecosystem has also been expanded with professional applications. Adobe Photoshop comes pre-installed on the Galaxy Tab S12 series, marking a first for Android tablets. Optimized for the tablet interface and S Pen, Photoshop provides professional image editing tools alongside AI-powered capabilities, including AI Assistant and Adobe Firefly-powered features such as Generative Fill and Image to Video.
