The announcement introduces the XPS 16 Creator Edition laptop and Dell Creator Edition Desktop, both powered by NVIDIA RTX Spark technology. Dell is also bringing its GB300-based Dell Pro Precision workstation to Windows, enabling enterprise development teams to run demanding AI workloads within their existing IT environments.
The initiative reflects a broader shift toward agentic AI, in which AI systems can perform tasks, execute workflows, and operate continuously with less direct human intervention. By bringing more computing power directly to users’ desks, the companies aim to reduce reliance on cloud infrastructure while supporting creative production, software development, and enterprise AI deployment.
XPS 16 Creator Edition Brings NVIDIA RTX Spark to a Premium Laptop
A major highlight of the announcement is the XPS 16 Creator Edition, the first XPS laptop to feature NVIDIA RTX Spark technology. The system combines a premium design with local AI development capabilities, advanced graphics performance, and a high-quality display intended for professional creative work.
At its core is the NVIDIA RTX Spark superchip, which integrates NVIDIA Blackwell RTX graphics, a Grace CPU, and unified memory within a slim Windows PC. The system is designed to run large AI models locally while supporting demanding creative applications, software development, and gaming.
The configuration offers up to a 6,144-core NVIDIA Blackwell RTX GPU, a 20-core NVIDIA Grace CPU, and 128GB of unified memory. The laptop measures just 17.8mm thick, bringing substantial computing capabilities into a portable form factor.
Its unified memory architecture allows the CPU and GPU to share a large pool of memory. This can help creators work with demanding projects, including complex 3D scenes, multilayer 8K video timelines, and AI models that may exceed the memory capacity of conventional laptops with discrete graphics.
The system also supports dedicated graphics and media technologies, including real-time ray tracing, Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS), and native 4:2:2 hardware video encoding and decoding. These capabilities are designed to improve visual quality and accelerate compatible creative workflows, while also supporting high-end gaming.
The hardware is housed in a CNC-machined aluminum chassis that continues the XPS line’s focus on premium construction and portability.
Professional Display and Connectivity for Creators
The XPS 16 Creator Edition features a 3.2K tandem OLED display designed for users who depend on accurate colors and detailed visuals. The panel supports VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600, with peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits, and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.
Factory calibration to Delta E below 2, alongside Pantone Validation, is intended to provide color accuracy for professional creative work. Tandem OLED technology also aims to deliver higher brightness and lower power consumption than traditional OLED panels.
The display supports a variable refresh rate ranging from 20Hz to 120Hz. This allows smoother motion during gaming and creative work while reducing refresh rates during static viewing to help conserve battery power.
Connectivity is another important component of the laptop’s design. The device includes a full-size SDXC 7.1 card reader for transferring photos and video directly from compatible memory cards. Three USB4 Type-C ports provide DisplayPort 2.1 and Power Delivery support, allowing charging through any of the ports and connections to external displays.
An HDMI 2.1b port supports high-definition audio and video output, including configurations with multiple external displays. A universal audio jack provides wired audio connectivity for users working with professional sound equipment.
Together, these features position the laptop as a portable workstation for creators who need display accuracy, fast data transfer, and substantial computing performance.
Local AI Development Within Windows
The XPS 16 Creator Edition is designed to support AI development and inference directly on the device. With up to 128GB of unified memory and access to the NVIDIA CUDA software ecosystem, developers can prototype, fine-tune, and run compatible AI models locally.
Local processing can offer benefits for privacy, responsiveness, and reducing dependence on cloud-based services, although performance and model compatibility will vary depending on the workload.
Windows provides the operating environment, including identity management, security controls, and device-management capabilities that organizations rely on. AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, ComfyUI, and Cursor are supported across the RTX Spark platform, providing options for coding assistance, generative media, and other AI-enabled workflows.
Software compatibility extends beyond AI development. Applications including Blender, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere are supported natively, while some additional applications, such as MATLAB, can run through Microsoft’s Prism emulation technology.
The platform also supports gaming features, including compatibility with anti-cheat systems such as Easy Anti-Cheat and BattlEye, as well as the Xbox PC app.

Dell Creator Edition Desktop Targets Continuous AI Workloads
For users who need sustained performance rather than portability, Dell is introducing the Creator Edition Desktop. The compact system uses the same NVIDIA RTX Spark superchip and offers up to 128GB of unified memory.
Unlike a laptop, the desktop does not face the same battery limitations and portable-chassis thermal constraints. This makes it suitable for longer rendering sessions, larger 3D projects, and extended AI training or fine-tuning workloads.
The system is designed to support AI agents that continue operating in the background while users perform other tasks. Dell states that the desktop can deliver up to one petaflop of FP4 computing performance and handle AI models with up to 200 billion parameters, depending on workload and configuration.
The combination of local AI capabilities, creative software support, and gaming compatibility is intended to give creators and developers a dedicated machine for a broad range of computing tasks.
Dell Pro Precision Expands Enterprise AI Workstation Options
Dell is also reorganizing its AI workstation lineup under the Dell Pro Precision brand. The previous Dell Pro Max with GB10 and Dell Pro Max with GB300 systems are being renamed Dell Pro Precision with GB10 and Dell Pro Precision with GB300, respectively.
The rebranding aligns these systems with Dell Pro Precision’s focus on professional computing workloads, including engineering simulations, large datasets, advanced rendering, 3D modeling, and AI development.
The GB300 workstation is particularly significant because Dell plans to make it available with Windows. Many demanding AI development environments have traditionally relied on Linux, while enterprise productivity, engineering, and creative workflows often operate within Windows. Bringing advanced AI computing to Windows could help organizations integrate powerful workstation hardware without substantially changing their existing IT processes.
Powered by the NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Desktop Superchip, the workstation is specified to deliver up to 20 petaflops of FP4 computing performance and 748GB of coherent memory. Dell says it can support local AI models with up to one trillion parameters.
The system is also equipped with Dell’s MaxCool technology, which the company says provides up to five times higher cooling efficiency. This is intended to help maintain performance during continuous, demanding workloads.
Through Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), developers can access Linux-based AI frameworks and the NVIDIA CUDA ecosystem within Windows, avoiding the need to dual-boot between operating systems or repeatedly switch environments.
A New Direction for Local and Agentic AI
Rob Bruckner, president of Client Devices at Dell Technologies, said AI is evolving beyond systems that are developed in the cloud and used only when requested. Instead, AI increasingly operates continuously, makes decisions, and connects directly with everyday work.
The expanded portfolio reflects this shift by offering hardware for different stages of AI adoption, from individual creators and developers to enterprise teams deploying persistent AI agents.
The XPS 16 Creator Edition laptop is scheduled to open for pre-orders in the United States through Best Buy on October 7, with availability on Dell.com expected soon afterward. The Dell Creator Edition Desktop and Dell Pro Precision with GB300 running Windows are listed as coming soon.
By combining local AI processing, professional creative capabilities, and enterprise-ready Windows integration, Dell, NVIDIA, and Microsoft are aiming to make advanced AI computing more accessible across personal and professional environments.
