Garmin Introduces ECHOMAP Ultra 2 with 16-Inch Full HD Display for Advanced Anglers
Garmin the global leader in marine electronics based on 2024 sales revenue, has unveiled the newest addition to its acclaimed ECHOMAP™ series: the ECHOMAP Ultra 2 chartplotters with a full 16-inch display. These powerful new units are designed specifically for inland and nearshore anglers seeking enhanced clarity, larger screens, and high-performance mapping and sonar features.
The ECHOMAP Ultra 2 series features the largest touchscreen display ever offered in the ECHOMAP lineup. Each unit is equipped with a full HD resolution screen and keyed-assist interface, offering unmatched visual clarity and brightness—even under direct sunlight.

1. Built-in Sonar Capabilities:
Select ECHOMAP Ultra 2 models come bundled with the GT56UHD transducer, Garmin’s top-tier all-in-one sonar solution. This transducer supports Ultra High-Definition ClearVü™ and SideVü™ scanning sonar, along with CHIRP traditional sonar, delivering sharp, detailed images of fish and underwater structures around and beneath the boat.
2. Live Sonar Compatibility:
All models in the ECHOMAP Ultra 2 series are fully compatible with Garmin’s LiveScope™ line of live-scanning sonar systems (sold separately), offering real-time imagery that helps anglers target fish with greater precision.
3. Preloaded Garmin Navionics+™ Mapping:
Each unit includes integrated Garmin Navionics+ cartography, providing rich detail and extensive coverage of inland and coastal waters. Enhanced by Auto Guidance+™ technology, these maps help anglers plan routes based on their boat’s specifications. For even more visual detail, users can upgrade to Garmin Navionics Vision+™ mapping, which includes high-resolution relief shading and aerial photography.

With built-in wireless networking, users can seamlessly share sonar data, routes, and waypoints between compatible ECHOMAP Ultra 2 and UHD2 chartplotters onboard—minimizing cable clutter and installation time. Note that LiveScope sonar cannot be wirelessly shared between devices.
