Apple today announced new updates to Apple Sports, the free iPhone app that keeps fans connected to their favorite teams and leagues. Just in time for football season, the app is rolling out widgets for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, plus new ways to follow games in real time with scheduled Live Activities.
Widgets for Every Fan
With the new widgets, fans can personalize their Home Screen to stay closer to the action:
- My Teams View shows scores and upcoming schedules for favorited teams.
- League View delivers scores and schedules for every team in a chosen league.
Widgets are fully customizable on each device and can be added without limit, giving fans instant access to the updates that matter most — whether on iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
Smarter Live Activities
Building on Live Activities for iPhone Lock Screen and Apple Watch, fans can now schedule Live Activities ahead of time for upcoming games. This makes it even easier to stay on top of matches without missing a moment.
Expanding Worldwide
Apple Sports is also broadening its reach, now available for free in eight additional countries: Austria, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, and Spain.
League coverage is growing too, with new European soccer competitions added, including the 2. Bundesliga, Ligue 2, Segunda División, Serie B, and Primeira Liga.
With these updates, Apple Sports gives fans more ways than ever to follow their favorite teams and leagues — anytime, anywhere, and across more devices.
