CesiumAstro Acquires Jariet Technologies to Strengthen Space Communications and ISR Capabilities

AUSTIN, Texas — CesiumAstro Inc., a global provider of advanced space communications and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) technologies, has acquired Jariet Technologies, a semiconductor company specializing in high-performance millimeter-wave (mmWave) RF System-on-Chip (RF-SoC) solutions for satellite communications (SATCOM), electronic warfare (EW), and radar applications.

The acquisition marks a major step in CesiumAstro’s strategy to build a highly vertically integrated communications and ISR technology portfolio. By bringing semiconductor design and advanced RF capabilities in-house, CesiumAstro aims to gain greater control over the entire RF signal chain while improving the integration of silicon, hardware, software, payloads, and mission systems.

This vertically integrated approach is expected to accelerate product development and help reduce size, weight, power consumption, cost, and overall system complexity across space, airborne, and terrestrial applications.

Expanding Semiconductor Capabilities

The addition of Jariet Technologies gives CesiumAstro direct access to advanced semiconductor design and RF signal-processing expertise. Jariet specializes in direct RF signal-processing integrated circuits, high-speed data converters, and digital beamforming technologies that enable flexible, software-defined systems.

These technologies are particularly important for next-generation communications and sensing platforms, where systems must operate across multiple frequency bands and support several functions simultaneously. By combining advanced semiconductor technology with software-defined architectures, CesiumAstro can develop systems that are more adaptable to changing mission requirements.

“This acquisition brings a foundational semiconductor capability into CesiumAstro,” said Shey Sabripour, Founder and CEO of CesiumAstro. “Combined with our expertise in software-defined communications, active phased arrays, payloads, and satellite platforms, Jariet strengthens our ability to deliver differentiated, high-performance systems at scale.”

Jariet has also established a U.S.-based semiconductor supply chain capable of supporting high-volume production. Its experience in RF chiplets and heterogeneous integration provides an important foundation for CesiumAstro’s future semiconductor and system-level products.

Advancing Phased-Array and RF Systems

Jariet’s semiconductor technologies are designed to support high-performance RF applications, including communications, radar, and electronic warfare. Its direct-sampling RF transceiver technology can operate at frequencies of up to 36 GHz, with prototype silicon exceeding 50 GHz.

These capabilities can play an important role in the development of advanced phased-array systems. Active phased arrays require highly integrated RF electronics capable of processing large volumes of data while maintaining performance, efficiency, and flexibility.

The combination of Jariet’s high-speed data converter transceivers and CesiumAstro’s experience in software-defined communications and active phased arrays is expected to accelerate the development of next-generation satellite and defense systems.

Charles Harper, CEO of Jariet Technologies, said the combination of the two companies will bring together semiconductor innovation, digital beamforming, and CesiumAstro’s expertise in satellite and defense systems.

“As a wholly owned subsidiary, Jariet customers can rely on complete continuity, benefit from more highly optimized designs, an expanded semiconductor R&D pipeline, and faster time to market,” Harper said.

Supporting Next-Generation Mission Systems

Following the acquisition, Jariet will become a wholly owned subsidiary of CesiumAstro. Its engineering team, semiconductor intellectual property, and manufacturing expertise will become part of CesiumAstro’s broader technology portfolio.

The combined organization plans to develop a new generation of Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) for commercial, government, and defense customers. These products are expected to support applications ranging from satellite payloads and active phased-array terminals to gateways, airborne platforms, and advanced communications networks.

Bringing semiconductor development closer to the system level could allow CesiumAstro to optimize hardware and software together rather than relying on separate technology suppliers. This could provide greater flexibility in designing systems for specific mission requirements while potentially shortening development and production timelines.

The acquisition also strengthens CesiumAstro’s ability to manage critical elements of the technology stack internally. From RF semiconductors and high-speed signal conversion to communications payloads, satellites, onboard computing, and mission software, the company is expanding its capabilities across multiple layers of the system architecture.

Building an Integrated Communications and ISR Platform

The Jariet acquisition follows CesiumAstro’s earlier acquisition of Vidrovr, an artificial intelligence company focused on real-time multimodal signal analysis. Vidrovr’s capabilities are intended to help CesiumAstro incorporate AI into communications and ISR systems.

With the addition of Jariet, CesiumAstro is extending its technology strategy further down the hardware stack. The company can now combine advanced semiconductor technology with AI, software-defined communications, phased arrays, payloads, and satellite platforms.

This combination could enable the development of more intelligent and resilient systems capable of processing and responding to large volumes of information closer to the point of collection. Such capabilities are increasingly important for defense and national security missions that require rapid data processing, secure communications, and adaptable sensing technologies.

The broader objective is to create integrated systems that can connect, detect, process, and respond across space and terrestrial environments.

Strengthening the Supply Chain

Jariet also brings a U.S.-based semiconductor supply chain designed to support high-volume RF production. The company has developed advanced RF wafer testing capabilities for both chiplets and packaged semiconductor components.

Control over semiconductor development and supply can provide strategic advantages in areas where performance, availability, and supply-chain resilience are critical. For defense and space programs, the ability to maintain reliable access to specialized components can be particularly important.

CesiumAstro’s vertically integrated manufacturing and testing capabilities, combined with Jariet’s semiconductor expertise, are expected to provide greater control over the development and production process.
