ClickHouse Acquires LibreChat to Bring AI-Powered Analytics to Everyone

ClickHouse Acquires LibreChat to Democratize AI-Driven Analytics with the Open-Source Agentic Data Stack

ClickHouse, creator of the world’s fastest and most widely adopted real-time analytics database, today announced the acquisition of LibreChat, a leading open-source AI chat platform that provides a unified interface for interacting with large language models (LLMs). As part of the acquisition, LibreChat founder Danny Avila and his core development team will join ClickHouse, combining expertise in open-source collaboration, natural-language interfaces, and AI-powered data systems.

Together, ClickHouse and LibreChat are establishing the foundation for the open-source Agentic Data Stack — a next-generation framework that empowers organizations to deploy AI agents capable of analyzing and acting on massive datasets through natural language. This marks a major evolution in analytics, where teams can move beyond dashboards and SQL queries to interactive, agent-driven insights that operate in real time.

“The acquisition of LibreChat accelerates our vision of making data analysis conversational, intelligent, and accessible to everyone,” said Aaron Katz, CEO of ClickHouse. “Every breakthrough in analytics has been about shortening the distance between a question and an answer. By joining forces with LibreChat, we’re making that distance disappear. Any user can now talk directly to petabytes of data and get instant, actionable insights.”

Real-World Adoption of Agentic Analytics

The emergence of agentic analytics is already transforming how global enterprises use their data. Organizations such as Shopify, Daimler Truck, Fetch, and cBioPortal are adopting the ClickHouse-LibreChat stack to drive faster, more intuitive decision-making and unlock new value from existing data infrastructures.

At Shopify, LibreChat has become a cornerstone of internal AI workflows.

“LibreChat powers reflexive AI use across Shopify. With near-universal adoption and thousands of custom agents, teams use it to solve real problems, increase productivity, and keep the quality bar high,” said Matt Burnett, Senior Engineer at Shopify. “By connecting more than 30 internal MCP servers, it democratizes access to critical information across the company.”

In the healthcare sector, cBioPortal leverages the combined ClickHouse-LibreChat stack to accelerate cancer research through natural-language data exploration.

“By integrating ClickHouse, MCP, and LibreChat, we delivered a prototype that lets cBioPortal users ask entirely new questions about cancer genomics and treatment trajectories — and get answers instantly,” explained Ino de Bruijn, Manager of Bioinformatics Software Engineering at cBioPortal. “It puts discovery directly at cancer researchers’ fingertips.”

The Rise of the Agentic Data Stack

ClickHouse and LibreChat are responding to a rapid shift across industries toward agentic analytics — AI-driven systems that not only interpret data but also initiate actions, automate workflows, and continuously learn from feedback. This model reduces friction between humans and data systems, enabling knowledge workers to engage with information in more natural and powerful ways.

Fetch, a leading mobile rewards platform, has built its FAST AI-powered analytics product on ClickHouse, using agentic analytics to translate billions of household purchase records into actionable business intelligence.

“We see agentic analytics as the future of data interaction — more intuitive, dynamic, and impactful,” said Sam Corzine, Director of Machine Learning at Fetch. “With its unmatched speed and scalability, ClickHouse is uniquely positioned to power this new generation of agentic experiences, and we’re excited to expand our partnership.”

ClickHouse has also adopted this approach internally with DWAINE (Data Warehouse AI Natural Expert) — an AI agent built on the combined ClickHouse-LibreChat stack. DWAINE now handles approximately 70% of internal data-warehouse queries for more than 200 users, processing over 33 million LLM tokens daily as of October 2025, up from just 15 million tokens a few months after launch.

“What impressed me most about LibreChat is its vibrant community and relentless innovation,” said Dmitry Pavlov, Director of Engineering at ClickHouse. “The synergy between ClickHouse Cloud’s blazing-fast query performance and LibreChat’s flexible multi-LLM architecture is unlocking a new era of secure, real-time, and accessible data agents.”

Continuing Open-Source Innovation

LibreChat will remain open-source, with continued investment in its community and ongoing support for existing deployments. ClickHouse plans to integrate LibreChat capabilities natively within ClickHouse Cloud, providing users with enhanced features such as:

  • A seamless LibreChat experience embedded in ClickHouse instances
  • Advanced data visualization and conversational exploration tools
  • Enterprise-grade security and governance controls
  • A semantic layer tailored for agentic workflows

These improvements will ensure that the Agentic Data Stack meets the needs of the world’s most demanding enterprises while remaining open, extensible, and community-driven.

Shaping the Future of Analytics

The acquisition underscores ClickHouse’s commitment to redefining how organizations interact with data. As AI agents proliferate across industries, the combination of ClickHouse’s high-performance analytics engine and LibreChat’s natural-language intelligence represents a decisive step toward democratized, AI-driven decision-making.

“The future of analytics isn’t just about dashboards,” added Katz. “It’s about intelligent agents that interpret data, trigger workflows, and power real-time business decisions. With the ClickHouse Agentic Data Stack, that future starts today.”
