European Telecom Giants Collaborate With NVIDIA to Power AI Infrastructure for Local Enterprises

Telecom Giants Partner with NVIDIA to Build Sovereign AI Infrastructure Across Europe

AI factories are producing intelligence at an unprecedented scale, unlocking massive potential for economic growth and innovation. To fully leverage this power, countries must invest in secure, sovereign AI infrastructure.Telecommunications providers — long trusted as the backbone of the modern digital world — are uniquely positioned to deliver AI services thanks to their vast infrastructure and widespread reach. Today, 18 telco-led AI factories powered by NVIDIA span five continents, demonstrating the global momentum behind this shift.

At NVIDIA GTC Paris during VivaTech, NVIDIA unveiled new collaborations with leading European telecom operators — Orange, Fastweb, Swisscom, Telefónica, and Telenor — to accelerate the development of sovereign AI factories and edge infrastructure throughout Europe. This initiative will provide enterprises across industries with secure, high-performance computing resources to train and deploy customized AI models and agent-based AI services.NVIDIA’s full-stack AI technologies empower telcos to evolve beyond traditional connectivity, enabling AI-as-a-Service (AIaaS) offerings. This transformation supports the widespread adoption of generative and agentic AI, allowing countries to build secure, localized AI models on sovereign infrastructure.

Orange Business Leads Trusted AI Deployment in Europe

Orange Business — the enterprise division of Orange Group and one of Europe’s leading telecom operators — has joined the NVIDIA Cloud Partner Program to advance the development of enterprise-grade agentic AI. This includes its innovative Live Intelligence platform, which enables companies of all sizes to securely deploy generative AI at scale.

These AI services are supported by Orange Business’ Cloud Avenue platform, which leverages high-performance NVIDIA infrastructure. Through this collaboration, European enterprises gain access to powerful AI infrastructure, enabling them to train custom models and deploy secure generative AI applications. This also opens new revenue opportunities for telecom operators while transforming experiences for employees, customers, and operations alike.Orange has already begun integrating AI into its own operations, with 73,000 employees using AI tools daily to streamline tasks, support software development, automate service processes, and enhance decision-making. This internal AI adoption is powered by Orange’s sovereign AI infrastructure, supporting teams across France, Europe, and Africa — and currently managing over 30,000 requests each day.

Telenor Pioneers Secure and Sustainable AI for Norway

Building on its creation of Norway’s first sovereign AI infrastructure, Telenor today announced it is significantly expanding capacity to meet rising demand from both internal teams and external customers. With plans to add a new AI data center that will run entirely on renewable energy and contribute surplus energy back to the grid, Telenor is helping Norway advance its mission of secure, sovereign and sustainable AI development.
