Foxconn Interconnect Technology (FIT Hon Teng, 6088.HK), a subsidiary of Hon Hai Technology Group, today hosted its first-ever FIT Tech Day in Taipei. The event spotlighted how data and power will serve as the twin foundations of AI-driven mobility.
Opening the event, FIT Chairman Sidney Lu underscored the company’s role in building the infrastructure for the AI era.
“Everyone has heard the phrase ‘Data is the New Oil,’ but in the age of AI, oil fields alone are not enough. You also need pipelines and energy conversion to drive the future,” Lu said. “This is precisely where FIT plays a role. Connectors and high-speed cables act as the nervous system, transmitting signals and data, while power systems serve as the lifeblood, delivering the sustained and efficient energy required for massive AI computing power.”
Lu emphasized that AI is reshaping the mobility landscape, and FIT’s One Mobility initiative builds on its acquisitions of German brands Autokabel and Voltaira. By combining high-efficiency power systems with advanced integration expertise, FIT aims to accelerate the next generation of mobility ecosystems in collaboration with global partners — opening new opportunities and enabling cross-industry innovation.
Saudi Partnership: Smart Mobility Gains Momentum
The event also welcomed HH Prince Fahad bin Nawaf Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, CEO of FIT’s joint venture Smart Mobility. In his address, Prince Fahad echoed the vision of “Data is the New Oil,” linking it to Saudi Arabia’s national transformation agenda.
Since HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman launched Vision 2030 in 2016, Saudi Arabia has advanced sweeping reforms, with AI hardware and software development becoming central to its long-term growth strategy.
FIT’s Smart Mobility joint venture — signed last October and formally launched in May — has already achieved rapid milestones:
- Completed three SASO product certifications within months.
- Preparing to break ground on a new factory by year-end, establishing FIT’s first manufacturing base in the Middle East.
Prince Fahad’s participation at FIT Tech Day reflects not only strong personal support but also the shared commitment of both parties to advancing technology development and co-creating the future of AI mobility.
Driving the Next Phase of AI Mobility
With innovation in data transmission and power systems at its core, FIT is positioning itself at the center of the AI mobility revolution. Through global collaborations — from Europe to the Middle East — FIT is charting a path toward smarter, more efficient, and sustainable mobility ecosystems.
