Nano One Selected for Inaugural Canada Investment Summit 2026

(“Nano One” or the “Company”) (TSX: NANO) (OTCQB: NNOMF) (Frankfurt: LBMB), a process technology company specializing in lithium-ion battery cathode active materials, is pleased to announce that it has been selected for the investment prospectus of the inaugural Canada Investment Summit 2026 (the “Summit”). The investment prospectus features a curated selection of government-vetted Canadian investment opportunities that will be presented to leading institutional investors from around the world.

Nano One will use the Summit as an opportunity to showcase its recently announced Canada DevCo, a proposed project aimed at establishing large-scale lithium iron phosphate (“LFP”) cathode active material production in Canada.

The Canada Investment Summit, announced by Prime Minister Mark Carney, is being hosted by the Government of Canada in partnership with the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) and the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments). The inaugural Summit is taking place in Toronto on September 14–15, 2026, and is expected to bring together more than 100 senior decision-makers representing some of the world’s largest institutional investment organizations.

The Summit is designed to promote investment in major Canadian projects and industries, with a particular focus on areas such as clean energy, critical minerals, advanced technologies and artificial intelligence. By bringing together government representatives, investors and project leaders, the initiative aims to support strategic investments that strengthen Canada’s economic competitiveness, industrial capacity and long-term resilience.

Nano One to Showcase Canada DevCo

At the Summit, Nano One will present its Canada DevCo project, which is being developed to establish domestic LFP cathode production capacity in Canada. The proposed project initially targets a production facility with an annual capacity of approximately 25,000 tonnes per annum (ktpa), with the potential to expand production to as much as 100,000 ktpa as market demand and project development progress.

The proposed facility is intended to leverage Nano One’s proprietary process technology and its growing expertise in LFP cathode manufacturing. The project represents an opportunity to support the development of a more resilient Canadian battery supply chain by producing critical cathode materials closer to domestic and North American sources of raw materials and end markets.

The Canada Investment Summit provides Nano One with an important platform to introduce the Canada DevCo opportunity to global institutional investors and explore potential investment, financing and strategic partnership opportunities. Engagement with major investors could help support the advancement of the project and contribute to the development of a scalable domestic supply of LFP cathode active materials.

The project also aligns with broader Canadian priorities surrounding critical minerals, advanced manufacturing, clean energy, automotive supply chains, defence industrial capacity and midstream processing.

Technology Designed for Scalable Cathode Production

Nano One is developing a differentiated approach to the production of cathode active materials (CAMs), which are among the most important components of lithium-ion batteries. Its technology platform combines patented processes, manufacturing expertise and modular plant designs intended to enable scalable, cost-competitive and more environmentally efficient CAM production.

A key feature of Nano One’s technology is its ability to eliminate wastewater and certain byproducts traditionally associated with conventional cathode production processes. This approach is designed to reduce environmental intensity while potentially simplifying plant operations, permitting and deployment.

Nano One’s modular manufacturing concept is also intended to reduce the number of processing steps required for cathode production. Fewer process steps can potentially reduce capital expenditure, energy consumption and environmental impacts while allowing production facilities to be deployed more efficiently and scaled according to market requirements.

The Company’s technology is designed to support the use of regionally sourced raw materials, helping to strengthen supply chain resilience and reduce exposure to geopolitical and logistical risks associated with concentrated global battery-material supply chains.

Nano One’s product development and process optimization activities are based at its Innovation Centre in Burnaby, British Columbia, while piloting, demonstration and commercial production activities are based at its facility in Candiac, Québec. The Company’s team brings more than 15 years of commercial cathode manufacturing experience, including experience supplying global battery cell manufacturers.

Strategic Partnerships and Government Support

Nano One is advancing its growth strategy through a combination of technology development, strategic partnerships, licensing opportunities, joint ventures and potential independent production. The Company refers to this approach as its Design-One-Build-Many strategy, which is intended to leverage its technology across multiple facilities and markets.

The Company has established strategic collaborations with major international organizations, including Sumitomo Metal Mining, Rio Tinto and Worley. These relationships provide Nano One with access to expertise and capabilities across areas such as mining, materials, engineering, project development and manufacturing.

Nano One has also received funding support from the Governments of Canada, the United States, Québec and British Columbia, reflecting the strategic importance of developing domestic and regional battery-material supply chains and advanced manufacturing capabilities.

Through the Canada DevCo initiative, Nano One intends to build upon its existing LFP expertise and establish a larger-scale production platform in Canada. The proposed project could benefit from Canada’s access to competitive and increasingly clean energy, proximity to critical mineral resources and growing ecosystem of automotive and battery-related industries.

Supporting Canada’s Battery and Critical Minerals Strategy

The development of domestic cathode production capacity is increasingly important as Canada and other major economies seek to strengthen battery supply chains and reduce dependence on geographically concentrated sources of critical materials.

LFP technology has become an increasingly important chemistry for lithium-ion batteries, particularly for applications where cost, safety, durability and resource availability are important considerations. Establishing domestic LFP production could therefore contribute to Canada’s broader objectives around critical minerals, advanced manufacturing and battery supply chain resilience.

Nano One believes its technology and Canada DevCo provide an opportunity to contribute to these objectives while creating a platform for future expansion and commercialization.

The Company’s participation in the Canada Investment Summit represents an opportunity to increase visibility for its technology and Canadian project among institutional investors and potential strategic partners. Nano One intends to use the Summit to advance discussions that could support investment and partnerships for the Canada DevCo project.
