Nordson Reports Record Fiscal Third-Quarter Results and Raises Full-Year Outlook
Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq: NDSN) reported record financial results for the fiscal third quarter ended July 31, 2026, with strong growth across all three of its business segments. The company said continued demand momentum, solid execution of its growth strategy and operational discipline helped drive record sales, earnings and EBITDA during the quarter.
Record Quarterly Sales and Earnings
Nordson generated $818 million in third-quarter sales, representing a 10% increase from the $742 million reported in the same quarter a year earlier. The company said organic sales increased approximately 12%, reflecting growth across all three operating segments.
The reported sales figure was partially affected by the net impact of a business divestiture completed in the prior year and an acquisition completed during the second quarter. Despite these portfolio changes, the company delivered broad-based organic growth and maintained strong profitability.
Net income for the quarter reached $153 million, compared with $126 million in the prior-year period. Earnings per diluted share increased to a record $2.73, up from $2.22 a year earlier.
Third-quarter results included a non-cash loss related to a minority investment, as well as acquisition-related amortization and costs. Excluding these items, adjusted earnings per diluted share reached a record $3.25, an increase of 19% from adjusted earnings of $2.73 per diluted share in the prior-year quarter.
Nordson also reported record quarterly EBITDA of $262 million, compared with $239 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2025. EBITDA increased approximately 10%, while the EBITDA margin remained strong at 32% of sales.
Strong Execution Across the Business
Nordson President and Chief Executive Officer Sundaram Nagarajan said the company’s strong performance during the first half of fiscal 2026 continued into the third quarter.
He attributed the results to the company’s execution of its growth strategy, diversified portfolio, precision technology and operational capabilities. According to Nagarajan, all three business segments achieved record quarterly sales while maintaining strong margins.
The company also generated significant free cash flow during the quarter. This allowed Nordson to strengthen its balance sheet, return capital to shareholders and continue investing in its operations and future growth opportunities.
Nagarajan thanked Nordson’s global employees for their contribution to the company’s performance and their continued focus on serving customers.
Industrial Precision Solutions Delivers Solid Growth
The Industrial Precision Solutions segment reported third-quarter sales of $367 million, an increase of 5% compared with the same period last year.
The segment’s reported growth included approximately 3% organic sales growth, a 1% benefit from favorable currency translation and a 1% contribution from an acquisition.
Organic growth was supported by strong performance across several product categories, including packaging, industrial coatings, polymer processing and nonwovens.
Despite the sales increase, segment EBITDA remained at $130 million, matching the prior-year third-quarter result. EBITDA represented approximately 35% of segment sales.
The performance demonstrates the resilience of the segment’s diversified industrial customer base and its ability to maintain profitability while continuing to expand sales.
Medical and Fluid Solutions Reaches New Record
Nordson’s Medical and Fluid Solutions segment also delivered record quarterly results.
Sales reached an all-time high of $231 million, representing a 5% increase compared with the third quarter of fiscal 2025. Excluding the impact of the company’s divestiture of its contract manufacturing business, organic sales increased an impressive 11%.
Growth was driven primarily by demand for engineered fluid solutions and medical products. The results indicate continued strength across key healthcare and fluid-management applications.
The segment also achieved a record EBITDA of $88 million, up 6% from $83 million in the prior-year period. EBITDA margin reached approximately 38% of sales.
The combination of double-digit organic sales growth and record profitability highlights the segment’s contribution to Nordson’s overall performance.
Advanced Technology Solutions Posts Significant Growth
The strongest growth came from Nordson’s Advanced Technology Solutions segment.
Third-quarter sales reached a record $220 million, representing a substantial 28% increase from the prior-year period. Organic sales increased an even stronger 31%, partially offset by a 3% unfavorable currency impact.
The company attributed the organic growth primarily to strong demand for its electronics dispense and test-and-inspection products.
Advanced Technology Solutions also achieved record quarterly EBITDA of $66 million, up 58% from $42 million in the prior-year quarter.
The segment’s EBITDA margin reached approximately 30%, demonstrating significant operating leverage as sales expanded.
The strong performance in electronics-related applications reflects the growing demand for precision manufacturing technologies across advanced electronics and other technology-driven industries.

Backlog Provides Positive Fourth-Quarter Momentum
Nordson enters the fiscal fourth quarter with continued demand momentum and a significantly higher backlog.
The company said its backlog is approximately 35% above the prior-year level, providing additional visibility into future sales.
Strong order entry and continued demand across key end markets were important factors behind Nordson’s decision to increase its full-year financial guidance.
The company now expects fiscal 2026 sales to reach between $3.035 billion and $3.075 billion. Adjusted earnings are expected to range from $11.80 to $12.00 per diluted share.
The updated outlook reflects the company’s confidence that the strong sales performance achieved during the first nine months of the fiscal year will continue through the fourth quarter.
Growth Strategy Supports Long-Term Outlook
Nagarajan said the company expects to surpass $3 billion in annual revenue for the full fiscal year.
He pointed to strong backlog and order-entry trends as evidence that demand remains healthy across Nordson’s end markets.
The company is focused on generating above-market organic growth by targeting areas with attractive long-term demand. Its differentiated technology, direct customer relationships and growth framework are intended to help the company expand while maintaining strong profitability.
Nordson’s strategy emphasizes a close-to-the-customer business model, specialized precision technologies and disciplined execution. The company believes these capabilities position it to generate sustainable growth and improve shareholder returns over time.
Diversified Business Model
Nordson is a precision technology company serving customers across a broad range of industries. Its products and technologies are used in applications spanning consumer non-durable products, medical equipment, electronics and industrial markets.
The company operates through a division-led organizational structure designed to encourage entrepreneurship while leveraging Nordson’s global resources and technology capabilities.
Its direct sales model and applications expertise allow Nordson to work closely with customers to address specialized manufacturing and production challenges.

Outlook and Risks
While Nordson is optimistic about its near-term outlook, the company noted that its forward-looking expectations remain subject to various risks and uncertainties.
Factors that could affect future results include global economic conditions, political developments, financial-market conditions and currency fluctuations. Changes in U.S. trade policies and tariffs could also influence operating costs, supply chains and customer demand.
The company may also face challenges related to acquisitions and integration, future divestitures, tax-law changes and other unexpected events.
Geopolitical conflicts, political unrest, natural disasters, pandemics and other circumstances outside Nordson’s control could also affect its operations and financial performance.
Investors are encouraged to review Nordson’s filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, including the risk factors outlined in its most recent Form 10-K and subsequent Form 10-Q filings.
Strong Position Heading Into Fiscal 2027
Nordson’s record third-quarter performance provides the company with strong momentum heading into the final quarter of fiscal 2026.
With record sales in all three segments, double-digit organic growth at the company level, record adjusted earnings and a 35% increase in backlog, Nordson enters the fourth quarter with considerable operating momentum.
The company’s decision to raise full-year guidance reflects management’s confidence in continued demand and the effectiveness of its growth strategy.
As Nordson continues investing in precision technology, expanding its customer relationships and executing its growth framework, the company expects its diversified portfolio and disciplined operating model to support profitable growth beyond fiscal 2026.
Overall, the third-quarter results underscore Nordson’s ability to combine strong revenue growth with industry-leading margins and disciplined capital allocation. With full-year revenue now expected to exceed $3 billion, the company is positioned to close fiscal 2026 on a strong note while continuing to pursue sustainable long-term growth.
