PwC Hong Kong teams up with watchTowr to strengthen proactive cybersecurity defenses and help organizations identify and stop threats before they cause damage.
PwC Hong Kong has expanded its partnership with cybersecurity firm watchTowr to strengthen managed security services across the region, with a focus on helping organizations detect and address real-world cyber exposures before attackers can exploit them.
The collaboration, which began in early 2024, centers on integrating the watchTowr Platform into PwC’s Managed Security Service (MSS) offering. Through this arrangement, PwC delivers continuous exposure validation, helping clients move beyond traditional reactive monitoring and toward a more proactive, resilience-driven security posture. The partnership has already supported major organizations in Hong Kong across critical infrastructure, enterprise, and higher-education sectors.
At the core of the watchTowr Platform is a preemptive exposure management approach. The technology combines proactive threat intelligence, real-world attacker telemetry, and automated validation techniques to identify exploitable weaknesses across an organization’s external attack surface. This enables security teams to prioritize genuine risks and act before vulnerabilities are exploited in active attacks. An AI-driven automation pipeline plays a key role by rapidly converting emerging attacker behavior into actionable intelligence and validated exposure insights.
PwC operationalizes these capabilities as part of its MSS offering, managing the platform around the clock and translating technical findings into clear, practical steps for both security teams and business stakeholders. The firm also integrates its incident response and threat intelligence expertise into the service, helping clients accelerate validation, prioritization, and remediation timelines.
According to PwC Hong Kong, the goal of the partnership is to democratize access to advanced cybersecurity capabilities across the region. By combining PwC’s frontline incident response experience with watchTowr’s technology, the companies aim to help organizations translate emerging threats into practical defenses that strengthen both individual enterprises and the broader digital ecosystem.
To support this effort, PwC has implemented a dedicated 24/7 support model for clients using the watchTowr Platform. The approach centralizes technical expertise and uses automated workflows to accelerate response times, resolve client inquiries quickly, and reduce the time between threat discovery and remediation.

Key elements of the managed service include round-the-clock support, integrated workflow and reporting tools, and advisory services at the CISO level. PwC provides managed vulnerability management, remediation support, asset and threat-intelligence aggregation, and operational guidance. The service can also include packaged “tokens” that enable rapid red-team engagements or prioritized remediation efforts when critical risks are identified.
As part of the expanded partnership, PwC’s DarkLab—its technical environment designed to simulate real-world attack scenarios—will also evolve. Following its integration into PwC’s consulting practice, DarkLab will focus more directly on managed security services, particularly exposure management and attack-surface management. This shift is intended to better align technical security operations with broader business transformation goals.
Both companies see the partnership as a way to help organizations identify and confirm real vulnerabilities faster, prioritize what matters most, and reduce risk before attackers can exploit weaknesses. PwC’s operational expertise combined with watchTowr’s exposure validation technology is intended to provide clients with a more actionable, real-time understanding of their cyber risk.
Looking ahead, the companies plan to expand the managed service offering beyond Hong Kong into additional markets across the Asia-Pacific region. Targeted countries include Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Thailand. The regional expansion aims to establish a new standard for preemptive exposure management across APAC, giving more organizations access to proactive cybersecurity capabilities designed to stay ahead of evolving threats.
