Quectel Launches New Smart SBCs to Accelerate Intelligent Device Development and Reduce Costs

Quectel Wireless Solutions, a leading global provider of end-to-end Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, has unveiled three new smart single board computers (SBCs) — the QSM368Z, QSM560DR, and QSM668SR. Designed to give developers greater flexibility, speed, and efficiency, the new SBCs help accelerate intelligent device development, simplify rapid prototyping, and lower overall development costs.

“These boards are complete, ready-to-use hardware platforms that can be easily integrated into customers’ broader systems across a wide range of IoT applications,” said Raymond Wang, Head of Smart SoC at Quectel Wireless Solutions. “By offering fully finished, low-cost solutions, we’re helping developers shorten their design cycles and bring products to market faster—without compromising on performance or reliability.”

Each SBC offers full certification, extensive connectivity options, and flexible operating system and memory configurations to meet diverse application requirements across industries such as smart manufacturing, retail, logistics, security, and automotive.

QSM368Z: High-Performance Edge Computing for Intelligent Applications

At the core of the QSM368Z is the Rockchip RK3568 IoT processor, featuring a quad-core ARM Cortex-A55 CPU, ARM Mali G52 GPU, 8M ISP HDR, and a 1 TOPS NPU. Together, these deliver a powerful combination of computing, graphics, and edge AI performance—ideal for running real-time data analysis and advanced imaging workloads at the edge.

Supporting both Linux and Android, the QSM368Z gives developers flexibility to work with familiar, open-source platforms, enabling faster software development and easier system integration.

To enable rich multimedia and data-intensive experiences, the board includes triple-screen concurrent display support, Gigabit Ethernet, and 4K video encoding. These features make it a strong fit for use cases such as digital signage, industrial control interfaces, and machine vision systems. The built-in NPU allows for on-device deep learning, enabling applications like smart manufacturing and automated quality inspection.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, and support for optional Quectel LTE Cat 1, LTE Cat 4, Wi-Fi 6, and GNSS modules. Engineered for stability, the board measures 120mm × 100mm × 22.25mm, weighs about 90g, and operates reliably between -10°C and +75°C.

With its strong balance of performance, connectivity, and durability, the QSM368Z is ideal for IoT gateways, smart displays, industrial terminals, safety monitoring systems, NAS/NVR/DVR, and automotive video recording solutions.

QSM560DR: 5G-Ready Powerhouse for High-Performance Edge Computing

The QSM560DR delivers exceptional computing and networking power for applications demanding high throughput and low latency. Featuring a 12 TOPS NPU and support for Ubuntu, Android, and Windows, it provides developers with unmatched flexibility across industrial, commercial, and consumer markets.

Its multi-mode 5G capability supports both NSA and SA networks with 3G/4G fallback, ensuring reliable connectivity even in challenging environments. Wi-Fi 6E with Dual Band Simultaneous (DBS) and 2×2 MU-MIMO technology enables faster data transfer and enhanced network efficiency—perfect for use in smart retail, robotics, industrial automation, and remote monitoring systems.

With downlink speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps on 5G NSA, the QSM560DR supports the real-time transfer of large data, video, and sensor streams. Multiple antenna configurations minimize transmission errors and optimize performance in demanding industrial conditions.

Measuring 120.5mm × 106mm × 22.5mm and weighing 120g, the board is built for industrial durability, operating in temperatures from -35°C to +75°C. The QSM560DR’s combination of powerful compute, 5G connectivity, and rugged design makes it a strong foundation for AI edge computing, robotics, and connected infrastructure.

QSM668SR: Flexible and Efficient Edge Platform for Everyday Smart Solutions

Rounding out the new lineup, the QSM668SR combines efficient performance with versatile connectivity to support a broad range of IoT and industrial applications. Equipped with a 1.1 TOPS NPU, and supporting Android, Linux, and Ubuntu, the board provides the flexibility developers need to build and deploy custom smart solutions.

The QSM668SR supports LTE Cat 4, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and GNSS connectivity. Under LTE Cat 4, it achieves uplink speeds up to 150 Mbps and downlink speeds up to 50 Mbps, ensuring dependable data transmission for connected devices. Optional GNSS support across GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, QZSS, and SBAS delivers precise positioning for applications like fleet management and logistics tracking.

With extensive multimedia and peripheral interfaces—HDMI, Ethernet, camera inputs, UART, USB, I²C, RS232, RS485, CAN, SD, and SIM—the QSM668SR offers developers maximum design flexibility. Measuring 102mm × 100mm × 23mm and weighing 97.7g, it operates from -20°C to +75°C, ensuring reliable performance even in harsh environments.

Ideal for IoT gateways, industrial control systems, smart homes, retail terminals, and safety monitoring, the QSM668SR provides a balanced, cost-effective platform for scalable edge deployments.
