Semtech Brings the LoRa® Ecosystem Together at IOTE 2026
Semtech Corporation (Nasdaq: SMTC), a global provider of high-performance semiconductors for AI data center networking and intelligent, connected Internet of Things (IoT) devices, is bringing together technology companies, customers and industry leaders at the 2026 International Internet of Things Exhibition (IOTE) in Shenzhen, China. The event will take place from August 26–28 at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao’an District, where Semtech will showcase its latest connectivity technologies and host the LoRa® Global Ecosystem Forum at Booth #10C51 in Hall 10.
Under the theme “Innovate, Connect, Achieve: LoRa Connects Future Industries and Global Markets,” the forum will explore the continued development of the LoRa ecosystem and the technologies driving the adoption of long-range, low-power connectivity across industrial and consumer IoT applications.
The event is designed to provide a platform for ecosystem partners, customers, technology developers and media representatives to exchange ideas about the future of connected devices and intelligent IoT networks. Discussions will focus on how LoRa technology is evolving to address new market requirements, support emerging applications and enable connectivity across increasingly diverse environments.
As part of the forum, Semtech will host a dedicated press conference for attending industry media. The program will also feature customer case studies, technology presentations and insights from Semtech experts and members of the broader LoRa ecosystem.
A wide range of ecosystem partners will participate in the event, including Anxinke, Appcon, Beijing Guodian Hi-Tech Technology Co., Ltd., Hailian, HopeRF, Ipcom Wireless Technology Co., Ltd., Lierda Technology Group Co., Ltd., LoRa Alliance, Minew, Quectel, Rejeee, Shenzhen Huapu Microelectronics Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Seeed Technology Co., Ltd., Sowye, and Xiamen Milesight IoT Co., Ltd.
The participation of these companies highlights the breadth of the LoRa ecosystem and its applications across connected consumer devices, industrial systems, tracking solutions and other IoT deployments.
New LoRa Plus Transceivers Expand IoT Design Options
The IOTE event also comes as Semtech expands its LoRa Plus™ family with the LR2022 and LR2012 transceivers, both of which are now available in production volumes.
Built on Semtech’s fourth-generation LoRa intellectual property, the LR2022 and LR2012 are designed to address different connectivity requirements while sharing a common technology foundation and software platform.
The LR2022 is a multi-band transceiver designed to support global terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks. Its broader frequency capabilities make it suitable for applications requiring connectivity across different geographic regions and network environments, including advanced tracking and other globally distributed IoT use cases.
The LR2012, meanwhile, is a sub-GHz LoRa transceiver aimed at cost-sensitive applications that use purpose-built sensors. By targeting simpler and lower-cost IoT deployments, the device expands the range of applications that can benefit from LoRa connectivity.
Together, the two products broaden the LoRa Plus portfolio, allowing developers to address requirements ranging from economical sub-GHz sensor deployments to more advanced multi-band and global tracking applications.
According to Semtech, both devices are based on the same fourth-generation LoRa IP and software platform. This common architecture can help simplify product development by allowing design teams to work across different device categories without having to adopt entirely separate platforms.
The shared architecture may also provide supply-chain benefits as products scale, reducing the number of different components that manufacturers need to source, evaluate and qualify.
“Device makers are supporting more use cases — smart home, industrial sensing, global tracking, and more — without adding a new chip for each use case,” said Shahar Feldman, senior product marketing director of wireless ICs at Semtech. He added that the LR2022 and LR2012 allow design teams to develop sub-GHz and multi-band products using a common architecture and software platform.
Live Technology Demonstrations at IOTE
In addition to the LoRa Global Ecosystem Forum, Semtech will use its IOTE booth to demonstrate a range of connectivity technologies and real-world IoT applications.
One of the featured demonstrations will focus on video, image and audio transmission. Using the LR2021, Semtech will demonstrate video transfer through fast long-range communication (FLRC) at speeds of up to 2.6 Mbps. The company will also showcase image transfer using the fast long-range protocol (FLRP), along with audio transmission over LoRa through a live walkie-talkie demonstration.
These demonstrations are intended to illustrate how long-range wireless technologies can support applications that require more than basic sensor data transmission.
Semtech will also highlight multiprotocol connectivity, combining LoRa with technologies including Z-Wave and Wi-SUN. Using the LR2021, the demonstrations will show how multiple wireless protocols can operate together to support different connectivity requirements within IoT environments.
Another area of focus will be the wider LoRa device ecosystem. Visitors to the booth will be able to see connected products operating through one of the world’s largest consumer-facing LoRa networks. Demonstration devices will include child trackers, vehicle trackers, glass-break sensors, fire alarms and other connected products.
These examples highlight the diverse ways LoRa technology can be used in real-world applications, from safety and security to asset and personal tracking.

Bringing Edge AI to IoT
Semtech will also demonstrate how edge artificial intelligence (AI) is influencing the development of next-generation IoT systems.
Edge AI enables data processing and intelligence to take place closer to connected devices rather than relying entirely on remote cloud infrastructure. In IoT environments, this approach can help enable faster decision-making and more responsive applications while supporting new possibilities for intelligent sensing and automation.
The live demonstration at IOTE will highlight how combining connectivity with intelligence at the edge can transform IoT deployments and create new opportunities across industrial and consumer applications.
Semtech will additionally showcase its growing module ecosystem, featuring modules from multiple manufacturers built around the LR20xx LoRa Plus series. The display is intended to demonstrate how semiconductor platforms can be integrated into a broader ecosystem of ready-to-deploy hardware solutions.
Supporting Applications Across Multiple Industries
The demonstrations at IOTE reflect the growing range of applications supported by LoRa and related multiprotocol technologies. Semtech will showcase solutions spanning smart home, agriculture, industrial IoT and other connected environments.
From tracking and security to sensing, automation and intelligent edge applications, the company is positioning its technology portfolio as a foundation for developers creating connected products across different markets.
By combining its semiconductor technologies with a broad ecosystem of partners and module manufacturers, Semtech aims to make it easier for companies to develop and deploy IoT products that require long-range, low-power and increasingly intelligent connectivity.
Connecting the Future of IoT
Semtech’s presence at IOTE 2026 underscores the company’s continued focus on expanding the capabilities and reach of the LoRa ecosystem. Through the LoRa Global Ecosystem Forum, new LoRa Plus transceivers, ecosystem partnerships and live demonstrations, the company is highlighting how wireless connectivity is evolving to support a broader range of IoT requirements.
The combination of scalable semiconductor technology, multiprotocol connectivity, edge intelligence and a growing partner ecosystem is helping create new opportunities for connected products and services.
As IoT adoption continues to expand across industries and geographic markets, Semtech’s latest developments demonstrate its strategy of providing technology platforms that can support applications ranging from cost-sensitive sensors to advanced global tracking and intelligent connected systems.
At IOTE 2026, Semtech will bring these technologies together under a common vision: enabling developers, manufacturers and ecosystem partners to innovate, connect and achieve as the next generation of IoT takes shape.
