Tigo Energy, a global leader in intelligent solar and energy software solutions, has announced a major upgrade to its installer support system, ushering in a fully digital documentation experience for its products. Starting November 2025, new shipments of Tigo’s TS4 Flex MLPE (Module Level Power Electronics) products will feature QR code–based access to installation resources, replacing traditional printed manuals. This modernization provides installers with instant, mobile-friendly access to the latest product guides, interactive visual instructions, and localized content across all the markets where Tigo operates.
This initiative aligns with Tigo’s broader Total Quality Solar (TQS) philosophy, which prioritizes innovation, installer empowerment, and sustainability throughout the company’s operations. Following the success of the Green Glove Service Program and Tigo Academy training platform, the transition to digital documentation is designed to enhance efficiency and accuracy for solar professionals on job sites while reducing environmental waste.
Enhancing the Installer Experience with Digital Access
Every Tigo product box will now feature a unique QR code that links directly to the company’s online resource library. Installers can simply scan the code using their smartphones or tablets to access up-to-date installation manuals, wiring diagrams, and short step-by-step video tutorials. This system ensures that users always receive the most current and accurate information, eliminating confusion caused by outdated printed materials.
On-site, where conditions can be unpredictable, having instant digital access also minimizes the common inconveniences associated with paper manuals—such as pages being misplaced, damaged, or rendered unreadable by environmental factors. By integrating these new resources into the daily workflow, Tigo empowers installers to complete projects faster and with greater confidence.
Nathan Mann, owner of Mann Solar, highlighted the convenience of the new system:
“Not everyone enjoys reading manuals, but this QR code method makes it quick and easy to get the right information right when you need it. We no longer have to worry about paper getting lost or damaged, which is a huge plus on a solar job site. For new installers just starting with Tigo, this digital format will be especially useful before they go through the Green Glove program.”
A Smarter, More Sustainable Way to Support Installers
Tigo’s digital transformation initiative is about more than convenience—it reflects a strong commitment to sustainability and global scalability. By removing printed documentation from its global packaging, Tigo expects to reduce its paper consumption significantly across more than 127 countries.
The company’s digital documentation library is also fully localized, offering content in multiple languages to meet the needs of diverse installer communities. This multilingual approach helps eliminate language barriers and ensures a consistent, high-quality installation experience worldwide.
Moreover, Tigo’s new system integrates seamlessly with Tigo Academy, the company’s online training and certification hub. Installers accessing product guides through the QR code can easily navigate to related training materials, enabling continuous learning and certification renewal. This cross-platform integration encourages installers to not only complete installations efficiently but also deepen their technical expertise with the latest solar and energy management technologies.
Driven by Feedback and Continuous Innovation
According to JD Dillon, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at Tigo Energy, the move toward fully digital documentation was driven by extensive installer feedback.
“We spend significant time engaging with installers like Nathan Mann throughout all stages of the installation process to understand how Tigo products perform in the field,” Dillon explained. “Delivering documentation digitally is a direct response to their input. It also reflects our broader strategy of delivering ongoing value through software innovation. Tigo products evolve quickly, and digital documentation allows us to keep pace with that evolution—ensuring installers always have the right information at the right time.”
This initiative also helps streamline Tigo’s internal operations by eliminating the need for complex, multi-language paper inserts and simplifying logistics for product distribution. By leveraging a centralized digital platform, Tigo can roll out updates to its documentation in real time, ensuring global consistency and reducing production waste.
Centralized Access and Future Availability
Installers and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) partners can now access Tigo’s complete library of digital product manuals and visual guides through the company’s dedicated documentation portal. The platform includes detailed step-by-step instructions, troubleshooting resources, and integration videos covering Tigo’s full range of products, including the TS4-A and TS4-X series of Flex MLPEs.
As part of this digital shift, Tigo is inviting partners and installers to explore its enhanced resource hub to familiarize themselves with the new documentation process ahead of its official rollout. The company also encourages feedback to further refine the installer experience and ensure the platform continues to meet the evolving needs of the solar industry.
With this move, Tigo Energy reinforces its position at the forefront of solar innovation—combining digital intelligence, environmental responsibility, and installer empowerment. By modernizing how solar professionals access and interact with product documentation, Tigo is not only improving efficiency and reliability on job sites but also setting a new standard for sustainability and customer support in the clean energy sector.
