TP-Link Unveils Its First Complete Wi-Fi 8 Lineup at IFA 2026

TP-Link Systems Inc., a global provider of consumer networking and smart home products, has unveiled its first generation of Wi-Fi 8 products at IFA 2026, introducing a new lineup focused on reliability, coverage and performance rather than speed alone.

Leading the new portfolio are the Archer 8 Ultra router and Deco 8 Ultra mesh system. Based on technologies being developed for the upcoming IEEE 802.11bn Wi-Fi 8 standard, the new products combine Wi-Fi 8 chipsets from Broadcom, Qualcomm and MediaTek with TP-Link’s hardware and software engineering to deliver a more reliable wireless experience for increasingly connected homes.

As the number of connected devices continues to grow, home networks face challenges ranging from congestion and interference to weak signals in areas farthest from the router. TP-Link says its Wi-Fi 8 approach is designed to address these everyday connectivity problems while providing the performance needed for modern homes.

Wi-Fi 8 Focuses on Reliability

While previous generations of Wi-Fi have often emphasized faster theoretical speeds, Wi-Fi 8 is being developed with a stronger focus on maintaining dependable connections in real-world environments.

TP-Link’s new StabilityEngine technology serves as the foundation of the Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra. The technology is designed to improve wireless coverage, manage network congestion and reduce the impact of interference, helping users maintain more consistent connectivity throughout their homes.

The StabilityEngine incorporates several next-generation technologies. Enhanced Long Range (ELR) and Distributed Resource Units (DRU) are designed to improve coverage at the edges of a home while strengthening uplink performance for distant or low-power devices.

Meanwhile, Non-Primary Channel Access (NPCA) is designed to help networks remain responsive as more devices connect and compete for available resources. For environments where interference can affect performance, Unequal Modulation (UEQM) and new Modulation and Coding Schemes (MCS) are intended to help maintain more consistent throughput.

Together, these technologies are designed to make Wi-Fi 8 more resilient in challenging wireless environments, particularly as households increasingly rely on multiple connected devices simultaneously.

Archer 8 Ultra: High-Performance Wi-Fi 8 Router

At the center of TP-Link’s new lineup is the Archer 8 Ultra BN19000, also designated as Archer BN800.

The tri-band Wi-Fi 8 router offers up to 19 Gbps of combined wireless throughput and supports 10 Gbps wired connectivity. It features 18 internal high-performance antennas designed to deliver strong and consistent coverage across the home.

The router is aimed at users who want a powerful standalone networking solution capable of supporting demanding applications and a large number of connected devices. By combining high wireless capacity with 10 Gbps wired connectivity, the Archer 8 Ultra is designed to serve as a high-performance foundation for next-generation home networks.

Deco 8 Ultra Brings Wi-Fi 8 to Mesh Networks

For larger homes or users looking for whole-home coverage, TP-Link is also introducing the Deco 8 Ultra BN22000, known as Deco BN85 in certain markets.

The tri-band Wi-Fi 8 mesh system delivers up to 22 Gbps of combined wireless speeds and includes 10 Gbps wired connectivity. A three-pack can provide coverage of up to 9,800 square feet and support more than 200 connected devices, making it suitable for large and highly connected households.

The Deco 8 Ultra is designed to extend Wi-Fi coverage throughout multiple rooms while maintaining a unified network experience. Its mesh architecture allows users to build a broader wireless network without relying on a single router to cover every part of a home.

Technology Designed for the Home

Alongside the underlying networking technology, TP-Link is placing a strong emphasis on industrial design with its latest Wi-Fi 8 products.

Traditional routers are often placed in hidden locations because of their appearance, even though doing so can negatively affect wireless performance. TP-Link says the Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra were designed to be displayed in more suitable locations where their wireless performance can benefit from better positioning.

The Archer 8 Ultra features a minimalist, architectural design with a dual-tone grille and micro-patterned surfaces. A soft illuminated indicator communicates device status while reducing the visual clutter associated with conventional router LEDs.

The Deco 8 Ultra takes a more refined approach to the company’s familiar Deco design language. Its compact footprint and organic edges allow it to blend into different home environments, while a combination of matte and glossy surfaces provides a more distinctive appearance.

Gary Chang, who leads industrial design at TP-Link’s Irvine headquarters, said the company approached the products as part of the home rather than simply as networking equipment. The goal, he explained, was to create devices that users would be comfortable displaying in locations where they can also perform at their best.

Expanding Wi-Fi 8 Portfolio

The Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra represent the beginning of TP-Link’s broader Wi-Fi 8 strategy. The company plans to expand the portfolio beyond traditional home routers and mesh systems to include additional products designed for different connectivity scenarios.

The planned lineup includes the Deco 8 Wi-Fi 8 Mesh System, expected in the first quarter of 2027, followed by the Roam 8 Wi-Fi 8 Travel Router in the second quarter of 2027.

TP-Link also plans to introduce Wi-Fi 8 range extenders and adapters during the second quarter of 2027. This broader ecosystem could give users more ways to introduce Wi-Fi 8 connectivity into different parts of their homes and extend the reach of next-generation wireless networks.

Product availability, specifications and launch schedules may vary by market and are subject to change.

Availability and IFA 2026 Demonstration

The Archer 8 Ultra is scheduled to become available for pre-order in select regions beginning September 30, 2026. TP-Link will provide additional information about pricing, regional availability and specifications during its global launch event.

Visitors attending IFA 2026 can see the Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra at the TP-Link booth in Hall 7.2C, Stand 101.

TP-Link will officially reveal the full details of both products during a global online launch event on September 30, 2026. Consumers interested in launch updates and availability can sign up through TP-Link’s Wi-Fi 8 information page.
