JBL Launches JBL Cove, Bringing Powerful Whole-Home Audio to Every Room
JBL has introduced JBL Cove, a new whole-home Wi-Fi audio system designed to make multi-room listening easier, more flexible and more immersive. The new JBL Cove range brings together three wireless speakers that can be used individually, paired for stereo sound or connected throughout the home to create a seamless multi-room audio experience.
Managed through the JBL One app, JBL Cove is designed around a simple idea: great sound should follow you wherever you are in your home without requiring complicated setup or constant speaker regrouping. Users can enjoy music in a single room, fill the entire home with synchronized audio or move between rooms without interrupting playback.
The range includes the compact JBL Cove M1, portable JBL Cove P1 and flagship JBL Cove X1, giving consumers the flexibility to choose a speaker based on their space, listening habits and performance requirements.
Powerful JBL Sound for Every Room
It Cove is built to deliver room-filling sound while giving users the freedom to place speakers wherever they want. Each model is designed to perform independently, as a stereo pair or as part of a larger whole-home audio system.
The JBL Cove M1 is the compact option, making it well suited to everyday listening in bedrooms, offices, kitchens and other spaces where a smaller footprint is preferred. It features a two-way speaker design with two 30mm and one 20mm silk-dome neodymium tweeters alongside a 4-inch woofer.
The JBL Cove P1 combines wireless home audio with portability. Its built-in battery provides up to 14 hours of playback, while an IP56 rating makes it suitable for a wider range of environments. It also features Dolby Atmos® support and an up-firing tweeter designed to create a more immersive listening experience.
At the top of the range, the JBL Cove X1 is engineered for listeners seeking powerful, three-dimensional sound. The flagship model features four 30mm silk-dome neodymium tweeters, including an up-firing unit, and two 4-inch woofers. With Dolby Atmos® support, it is designed to deliver expansive, room-filling audio.
Across the range, It’s Constant Sound Field, automatic room calibration and AI Sound Boost technologies work together to optimize performance. Constant Sound Field technology helps create balanced sound throughout the listening area, while automatic self-tuning adjusts the speaker’s performance according to its surroundings and placement. AI Sound Boost is designed to reduce distortion when listening at higher volumes.
Simple Whole-Home Listening
One of It Cove’s key advantages is its focus on simplicity. Setting up a multi-room audio system can often involve complicated configurations, but JBL says Cove is designed around a straightforward three-step setup.
Once connected to Wi-Fi, speakers can be managed through the It One app. Users can group speakers together to play the same music throughout the home or choose to stream independently in individual rooms.
The system is designed to eliminate the need to constantly regroup or reset speakers. Someone listening to music in the living room, for example, can continue enjoying audio there while another person streams different content in another room.
It Cove also supports a broad range of connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Google Cast™, Roon Ready, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect. High-resolution audio support gives users access to higher-quality streaming from compatible services.
For Spotify users, Spotify Tap provides one-touch access to music using the speaker’s Moment button. Voice control is also available through Alexa Built-In, including compatible smart-home functions. In the United States, users can additionally access Alexa+, Amazon’s AI assistant, subject to availability and eligibility.
Expanding the Home Theater Experience
It Cove is not limited to music. The speakers can also work with compatible JBL Bar Series MK2 soundbars, allowing users to expand their home entertainment setup.
At launch, the It Cove M1 and P1 can be used with compatible JBL Bar Series MK2 models as part of an expanded audio system. The speakers can serve as rear channels, helping create a more immersive Dolby Atmos® home theater environment.
This integration gives users a way to build a connected It audio ecosystem over time rather than purchasing a completely separate system for music and home theater.
Another feature designed to make everyday listening more convenient is Music Follows Me. With this functionality, users can move their audio experience from one location to another by pressing and holding the Moment button. Music or compatible TV audio can follow the listener without requiring them to pick up their phone or navigate through the app.

JBL Cove P1 is priced at $399.95 and adds portability, with up to 14 hours of battery life and an IP56 rating. It supports Dolby Atmos® and includes an up-firing tweeter for more immersive sound.
JBL Cove X1, priced at $449.95, is the flagship model. Its four tweeters and dual 4-inch woofers are designed to provide powerful 3D room-filling sound, along with Dolby Atmos® support.
All three models support stereo pairing and whole-home audio, giving users the option to start with one speaker and expand their system later.
