Apple Announces Major Global Expansion of Apple Fitness+, Bringing the Service to 28 New Markets Worldwide
Apple has announced a significant expansion of Apple Fitness+, the company’s award-winning fitness and wellness platform. Beginning December 15, Fitness+ will launch in 28 additional markets, including Chile, Hong Kong, India, the Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan, and many others, marking the largest geographic rollout since the service debuted five years ago. Additionally, Japan is scheduled to gain access early next year. In conjunction with this expansion, Apple has announced the introduction of digitally dubbed workouts and meditations in Spanish, German, and Japanese, dramatically increasing accessibility for global audiences. The service is also expanding its music selection with the addition of an all-new genre, K-Pop, now available across multiple workout types.
According to Apple, this expansion reflects a growing global demand for flexible, digital fitness solutions that integrate seamlessly with users’ everyday technology. As more people turn to personalized, on-demand fitness options, Apple Fitness+ aims to provide a connected experience that blends data-driven insights, diverse training options, and motivating content within the familiar Apple ecosystem.
A Global Milestone for Apple Fitness+
“Through its seamless integration across Apple devices, Fitness+ has helped inspire users to live a healthier day,” said Jay Blahnik, Apple’s vice president of Fitness Technologies. “From seeing real-time, personal metrics right onscreen with Apple Watch or AirPods Pro 3, to the ability to bring the service with you wherever you go on iPhone or iPad, we’re delivering unmatched motivation to users. We couldn’t be more excited to bring this experience to even more users around the globe with our biggest expansion yet.”
With this rollout, consumers in 49 countries and regions will now be able to access the service’s extensive library of fitness and wellness content. Fitness+ provides 12 different workout categories, including Strength, Yoga, HIIT, Pilates, Dance, Cycling, Kickboxing, Rowing, Core, Treadmill, and Meditation, with sessions ranging from 5 to 45 minutes. Users can exercise using iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV, allowing flexible use at home, outdoors, or while traveling.
Integration with Apple Watch and AirPods Pro 3 enhances the personalized experience by displaying real-time performance data such as heart rate, calories burned, Activity ring progress, and the Burn Bar, a metric comparing user effort to others who completed the same workout. Fitness+ also includes Custom Plans, an intelligent planning tool that automatically generates a personalized training schedule based on the user’s preferred workout types, duration goals, trainers, and music selections.
Digitally Dubbed Content to Support a Worldwide Audience
To make Fitness+ more inclusive and accessible, Apple is introducing digitally dubbed workouts and meditations in Spanish and German, with Japanese dubbing to follow early next year when the service officially launches in Japan. Each dubbed session uses an advanced generated voice crafted from the actual recorded voice of the original Fitness+ trainer, preserving the authentic tone and motivational style associated with the trainer-led experience.
Each week, Fitness+ subscribers will be able to discover newly dubbed sessions in all three supported languages, in addition to the original English versions. Users may select their preferred audio track directly from the audio controller after starting a session, or adjust language preferences in the Fitness app settings. If Spanish, German, or Japanese is set as the preferred language, the system will automatically play the dubbed version whenever available.
This initiative reflects Apple’s goal of ensuring that more users feel connected to their trainers and fitness content, regardless of language or cultural background.
New Music Genre: K-Pop Joins the Fitness+ Lineup
Apple is expanding the musical diversity of its workout library with the launch of a new genre: K-Pop, introducing global hits from some of the most influential artists in the genre. K-Pop joins existing Fitness+ music categories such as Upbeat Anthems, Latest Hits, Hip-Hop/R&B, Latin Grooves, and more. As music plays a critical motivational role for many users, the addition of K-Pop enhances the platform’s appeal, especially for younger audiences and fans of Korean culture worldwide.
