Apple and Formula 1 Announce Exclusive Five-Year U.S. Partnership Bringing All Races to Apple TV
CUPERTINO, Calif., and LONDON — [Date] — Apple and Formula 1® today announced a landmark five-year partnership that will bring exclusive U.S. coverage of every Formula 1 race to Apple TV beginning next year.
The new agreement builds on Apple’s growing relationship with Formula 1, following the record-breaking success of F1 The Movie from Apple Original Films — now the highest-grossing sports film of all time. United by their shared passion for innovation and world-class fan experiences, Apple and F1 aim to accelerate the sport’s growth and popularity across the United States.
Under the partnership, Apple TV subscribers will gain access to every Formula 1 session — including all practice, qualifying, Sprint, and Grand Prix races. Select events and all practice sessions will also be available free in the Apple TV app throughout the season.
Apple will further expand F1’s presence across its ecosystem, integrating the sport into Apple News, Apple Maps, Apple Music, and Apple Fitness+. The Apple Sports app will deliver real-time updates from every race weekend — featuring live leaderboards, driver and constructor standings, and Lock Screen Live Activities, along with a dedicated Home Screen widget.
F1 TV Premium, Formula 1’s premier content service, will continue to be available in the U.S. exclusively through an Apple TV subscription and will be included free for subscribers.
“We’re thrilled to deepen our relationship with Formula 1 and bring Apple TV subscribers in the U.S. front-row access to one of the most thrilling and fastest-growing sports in the world,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services. “2026 marks a transformative new era for Formula 1 — from new teams and regulations to cars piloted by the best drivers on the planet — and we can’t wait to deliver an innovative, fan-first viewing experience only Apple can provide.”
“This partnership represents an exciting new chapter for both Apple and Formula 1,” added Stefano Domenicali, Formula 1’s president and CEO. “It will allow us to maximize our growth in the U.S. with the right mix of content, innovation, and reach. Having collaborated with Apple over the past three years on F1 The Movie, we know their passion and creativity will bring this sport to fans like never before. I’d like to thank Tim Cook, Eddy Cue, and the entire Apple team for their vision — we look forward to an incredible five years ahead.”
Further details — including production plans, product features, and new ways for fans to experience Formula 1 across Apple products and services — will be shared in the coming months.
F1 The Movie Continues to Shatter Records
Continuing to captivate audiences worldwide, F1 The Movie will make its global streaming debut on Apple TV on December 12, 2025. Since its theatrical release this summer, the film has surpassed $629 million at the global box office, becoming this year’s highest-grossing original film and the biggest live-action debut in the U.S. in the past five years — as well as Brad Pitt’s most successful feature to date.
The film earned an “A” CinemaScore and a 97% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, praised for its authenticity and breathtaking racing sequences. Directed and produced by Joseph Kosinski and Jerry Bruckheimer, alongside Lewis Hamilton, Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, and Chad Oman, F1 The Movie was produced by Apple Studios.
Formula 1’s Growing U.S. Fanbase
Formula 1 continues to rank among the fastest-growing sports leagues globally, with its U.S. fanbase reaching 52 million in 2024. According to the 2025 Global F1 Fan Survey, conducted with Motorsport Network, 47% of new U.S. fans (following the sport for five years or less) are aged 18–24, and more than half are women — underscoring the sport’s expanding appeal across audiences.
