FORT Robotics Introduces Connectivity Aggregation to Improve Reliability of Autonomous Machines
FORT Robotics a provider of safety, security, and reliability technologies for autonomous machines, has introduced Connectivity Aggregation, a new software solution designed to help autonomous and remotely operated systems maintain dependable network connections across challenging environments.
The company announced the technology at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting & Exposition, where it also shared that the solution is being rolled out with several defense customers that require highly reliable communications. Visitors can learn more about the technology at FORT Robotics’ exhibit in the Innovation Pavilion hosted by J.A. Green & Company.
As autonomous ground vehicles, uncrewed systems, and remotely controlled equipment become more widely used, uninterrupted connectivity is increasingly important. These machines often operate in locations where network coverage is inconsistent, infrastructure is limited, or communications may be disrupted. Connectivity Aggregation aims to address these challenges by combining multiple communication networks into a single, resilient connection that can adapt automatically as conditions change.
The software integrates cellular, satellite, Wi-Fi, and tactical radio connections to help machines remain accessible when an individual network becomes unreliable or unavailable. By coordinating several connectivity options, the solution is intended to reduce interruptions that could affect remote visibility, operational control, and mission performance.
“A robot should never become unreachable just because one network fails,” is the central principle behind the technology, according to FORT Robotics. The company says reliable communications are an essential component of ensuring that autonomous machines can operate safely and predictably, particularly in environments where interruptions may have serious consequences.
Samuel Reeves, CEO of FORT Robotics, highlighted the difference between ordinary connectivity problems and those involving remotely operated heavy machinery.
He explained that a dropped connection during a phone call may be inconvenient, but a similar disruption while someone is controlling a machine weighing 20 tons can create a substantially more serious situation. In such cases, maintaining a dependable communication link is important for both operational continuity and safety.
Supporting Operations in Challenging Environments
Remote operation of autonomous vehicles and robotic equipment frequently depends on networks that may be affected by physical obstructions, coverage gaps, infrastructure failures, or deliberate interference. These risks can be especially significant in defense operations and other environments where communications must remain dependable despite changing conditions.
When a network weakens or fails, operators may need to switch manually to an alternative connection. This process can interrupt operations and delay a response. For missions that depend on continuous communication, even a brief loss of connectivity can affect the operator’s ability to monitor or control a machine.
Carlos Villegas, FORT Robotics’ Strategic Account Executive for Defense, described the potential consequences of communications failures in contested environments. A soldier remotely controlling an autonomous vehicle could lose control if its connection deteriorates or is jammed, he noted. Such disruptions can create safety risks for personnel working near heavy autonomous equipment while also threatening mission objectives.
Connectivity Aggregation is designed to reduce these vulnerabilities by combining available networks into one optimized connection. Rather than depending on a single communication channel, the software coordinates multiple network options and adjusts to changing conditions. This approach is intended to provide greater resilience than reliance on any one network alone.
The technology is aimed at applications where operators need consistent access to machines, including situations in which network quality changes as vehicles move between locations or encounter obstacles.
Flexible Connectivity Across Networks
FORT Robotics designed Connectivity Aggregation to be network-agnostic, allowing it to work with different communications technologies without requiring customers to adopt a proprietary network infrastructure.
The software supports standard commercial networks and can operate across both public and private networks. It does not require specialized proprietary devices or custom cellular connections, giving customers greater flexibility when selecting connectivity options for their operations.
Organizations can deploy the software on their own hardware, use it as a standalone solution, or integrate it with FORT Robotics’ broader hardware and software platform. The company also works directly with customers to help incorporate the technology into their existing systems and operational environments.
This flexible deployment model is intended to make the solution suitable for different types of autonomous machines and operating conditions. Customers can select an implementation approach that aligns with their hardware, communication infrastructure, and system requirements.
By bringing several connectivity options together, FORT aims to help manufacturers and operators reduce the risk of losing communication with autonomous equipment when a particular network performs poorly.

Expanding FORT Robotics’ Physical AI Platform
Connectivity Aggregation is the latest addition to FORT Robotics’ technology platform, which focuses on making autonomous machines safe, secure, and reliable enough for deployment at scale alongside people.
The company serves customers across multiple industries, including defense, warehousing, transportation, agriculture, manufacturing, construction, mining, and energy. According to FORT Robotics, its technology has been deployed in more than 19,500 units and is used by a customer base of more than 600 organizations worldwide. The company also reports holding 25 patents.
As robotics and physical artificial intelligence applications expand, dependable communications are becoming an important consideration in the deployment of increasingly capable machines. Connectivity Aggregation addresses one part of that challenge by focusing on the link between remote operators, autonomous systems, and the networks that connect them.
FORT Robotics’ broader objective is to help robot manufacturers and end users improve safety, support efficient operations, and bring robotic technologies to market more quickly. The company positions its platform as a trust layer for physical AI, emphasizing the importance of dependable and secure systems as autonomous machines become more common in workplaces and other operational settings.
FORT Robotics has also announced plans to become a publicly traded company through a proposed business combination with Newbury Street II Acquisition Corp. (Nasdaq: NTWO). If the transaction is completed, the combined company is expected to be named FORT Robotics Holdings, Inc., with its shares anticipated to trade on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “FROB,” subject to regulatory approvals and the satisfaction of other closing conditions.
