OLATHE, Kan.Garmin today announced a strategic partnership with Meta to bring personalized training insights and alerts to the new Oakley Meta Vanguard AI glasses. When paired with select Garmin smartwatches and cycling computers, athletes will be able to access real-time biometric and performance data through a hands-free, voice-activated experience powered by the Meta AI app, available in the Garmin Connect IQ™ Store.
“We are excited to collaborate with Meta to integrate Garmin’s trusted fitness and performance data into the Vanguard line of AI glasses,” said Susan Lyman, Garmin Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing. “This innovation gives athletes a truly hands-free way to stay informed, optimize training, and maintain focus while in motion.”
Train Smarter with the Meta AI App
With Garmin device compatibility, athletes can unlock a new dimension of training by combining real-time stats, visual cues, and post-workout insights through Oakley Meta Vanguard AI glasses:
- Voice-activated performance data: Athletes can say “Hey Meta” to hear real-time metrics like pace, speed, or heart rate directly through their glasses — no screens or distractions needed.
- Customizable status LED: Pair your glasses with Garmin devices to display color-coded visual cues for pace, heart rate, or power zones.
- Autocapture & recap video: Glasses automatically record highlight clips triggered by performance milestones. A post-workout video recap is then available in the Meta AI mobile app.
Deeper Insights with Garmin Devices
When paired with a compatible Garmin smartwatch or cycling computer, athletes gain access to enhanced post-workout analytics in the Meta AI app, including:
- Activity summaries: Personalized performance reports delivered in-app or directly through your AI glasses. (Available now in the U.S.; expanding globally soon.)
- Activity sharing: Add graphic overlays of Garmin performance metrics — such as distance, pace, or speed — to your photos and videos before sharing on Instagram, Facebook, or WhatsApp.
