Samsung Unveils Vision AI Companion at IFA 2025, Ushering in the Next Era of AI-Powered Displays
Samsung Electronics today announced Vision AI Companion at IFA 2025, marking the next evolution of AI integration across Samsung TVs and monitors. Powered by an upgraded Bixby voice assistant and generative AI, Vision AI Companion offers more natural, conversational interactions and unifies Samsung’s most advanced AI features into a single intuitive hub — helping users discover content, get contextual answers, and interact with their devices in smarter, more personalized ways.
With TVs increasingly serving as the centerpiece of the connected home, Vision AI Companion goes far beyond streaming, offering personalized recommendations, seamless multi-device experiences and contextual support for everyday life.
At Samsung, we’re investing in technology that makes experiences more personal, more intuitive and built for the future,” said Kevin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Customer Experience Team at Samsung Electronics. “With Vision AI Companion, we’re redefining what a TV can do — moving beyond picture and sound to deliver an experience that understands you, interacts with you and evolves with you over time.”
Smarter, More Conversational AI
At the press of a button on the remote, users can call on Vision AI Companion for visualized, contextual answers. Backed by generative AI, the assistant understands follow-up questions and context, enabling fluid, human-like conversations instead of rigid commands or menu navigation.
Viewers can ask about anything on-screen — from film details to the name of a painting or travel tips — and receive rich, interactive answers that combine text, images and video for a more immersive discovery experience.
Unified AI Features in One Experience
Vision AI Companion integrates Samsung’s leading AI innovations into a streamlined interface:
- Live Translate – real-time translation for conversations and on-screen dialogue.
- Generative Wallpaper – dynamic backgrounds tailored to user preferences.
- AI Picture, AI Upscaling Pro and Active Voice Amplifier Pro – intelligent picture and sound optimization for any content.
- AI Gaming Mode – adaptive, responsive settings for immersive gameplay.
- Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity apps – standalone AI agents for productivity and task support, accessible directly from the TV.
By bringing these features together, Vision AI Companion eliminates the need to switch between apps or menus, making the TV a central hub for entertainment, productivity and connected living.
From Vision to Reality
First previewed at CES 2025, Samsung’s Vision AI strategy focuses on enhancing displays with smarter picture quality, advanced AI agents and tighter device integration. Backed by seven years of free software upgrades via One UI Tizen, Samsung ensures its devices stay current with new AI features and Knox security updates.
Vision AI Companion will begin rolling out as a software update in late September, starting in Korea, North America and select European markets, with additional regions to follow.
