Contain the Chaos: CONTROL Resonant Arrives on GeForce NOW
CONTROL Resonant the latest GeForce NOW update brings a major cloud gaming launch, a limited-time membership offer, and a fresh lineup of games for players to explore. Remedy Entertainment’s highly anticipated CONTROL Resonant is now available on GeForce NOW, giving members the opportunity to experience its supernatural action without the need for a large local installation or a high-end gaming PC.
Alongside the game’s launch, NVIDIA is entering the final days of its CONTROL Resonant Ultimate Membership Bundle. Customers who purchase a 12-month GeForce NOW Ultimate membership through Sunday, September 27, can receive CONTROL Resonant at no additional cost.
The week also marks the upcoming expansion of GeForce NOW support to Googlebooks, a new category of laptops designed to combine elements of ChromeOS and Android. Meanwhile, DragonSword: Awakening leads a group of nine games joining the cloud gaming service this week.
Enter the Paranatural World of CONTROL Resonant
CONTROL Resonant takes players into a distorted version of Manhattan where reality itself is under threat. Developed by Remedy Entertainment, the latest chapter in the CONTROL franchise follows Dylan Faden as he confronts an escalating paranatural crisis while searching for his sister, Jesse Faden, the director of the Federal Bureau of CONTROL.
Dylan must learn to control his extraordinary abilities while battling the Hiss, the Mold and other reality-altering threats. At the center of his combat arsenal is the Aberrant, a paranatural melee weapon capable of changing forms as players progress through the adventure.
The result is a world where exploration, combat and supernatural abilities are constantly intertwined. Players must adapt to an environment that can change around them while confronting a threat that has escaped the Oldest House and spread across the city.
For GeForce NOW Ultimate members, the experience is powered by GeForce RTX 5080-class performance in the cloud. Players can take advantage of technologies including NVIDIA DLSS 4, ray tracing, NVIDIA Reflex and Cinematic Quality Streaming, with support for resolutions of up to 5K high dynamic range on compatible devices.
Cloud streaming also means players can bypass the traditional 100GB local installation and avoid upgrading their existing hardware simply to meet the demands of a new release.
The limited-time CONTROL Resonant Ultimate Membership Bundle is available through Sunday, September 27, making this the final opportunity to take advantage of the promotion.
GeForce NOW Heads to Googlebooks
Cloud gaming is also expanding to a new category of devices. GeForce NOW support is coming soon to Googlebooks, Google’s new category of laptops designed around Gemini Intelligence.
Googlebooks are designed with premium materials and a focus on performance, security and connectivity across devices. The laptops feature a Titan C chip and multiple layers of protection intended to help defend against security threats.
The platform is also designed to make the transition between smartphones and laptops more seamless. Users can access files and applications from their phones directly on the laptop, helping bridge the gap between mobile and traditional computing.
As Googlebooks begin rolling out during the fall, GeForce NOW support will bring access to the cloud gaming library without requiring users to install demanding PC games locally.
Players will be able to stream supported PC titles using GeForce RTX-powered performance, extending the reach of cloud gaming to another category of portable devices.
NVIDIA says additional information about availability will be shared through GeForce NOW’s social channels later this year.
DragonSword: Awakening Leads This Week’s New Games
Another major addition to the GeForce NOW lineup is DragonSword: Awakening, an anime-inspired open-world adventure from Hound13.
The game begins with the awakening of a dragon after six decades, setting the stage for a journey through the continent of Orbis. Players follow Lute as he begins his quest to become the legendary hero known as the Dragon Sword.
Orbis offers a broad range of environments to explore, from open meadows and caves to deep seas, secret cellars and dangerous dungeons. Players can travel alongside allies and collect Familiars as they progress through the adventure.
Combat centers around building a team of 19 heroes, combining Active Skills, Status Ailments and Signal Skills to create powerful combinations and tag-team attacks. Each character also has an individual story that players can uncover as the journey progresses.
DragonSword: Awakening is available across supported devices, including Steam Deck systems, Firefox browsers and Amazon Fire TV devices, giving players multiple ways to access the adventure through GeForce NOW.
Nine New Games Join the Cloud
In addition to CONTROL Resonant and DragonSword: Awakening, GeForce NOW members can look forward to a selection of new games arriving across the week.
The lineup includes:
- Dune: Awakening — a new Xbox release arriving September 22 and available through Game Pass.
- Stick It to the Stickman — a new Steam release arriving September 23.
- CONTROL Resonant — launching on Steam September 24.
- Wild West Pioneers — coming to Steam September 25.
- DragonSword: Awakening — available through Steam.
- Everything Is Crab — available through Steam.
- LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight — available through Steam.
- Over the Top: WWI — available through Steam.
- Roadside Research — available through Steam.
